Rome Day 2

Rome is home to a large array of monuments, statues, and fountains dedicated to both historical figures, religious figures, and gods.
We visited the large attraction, The Colosseum, in Rome, an amphitheater with a rich history. It is almost 2,000 years old and once served as a venue for animal and gladiator fights, attracting many civilians. Due to its age, parts of the colosseum are missing and recycled pieces have been repurposed throughout Rome.

We made a visit to the Trevi Fountain, in the Trevi district of Rome, which was first opened in 1762 and took 30 years to construct. Legend says that throwing one coin in the fountain ensures another visit to Rome, 2 ensures marriage, and 3 ensures divorce.

During one of our walking tours of Rome, we were able to stop to enjoy a tasting of the traditional Italian food called a "suppli", which is Italian for the word surprise. Suppli is a breaded & lightly friend snack stuffed with seasoned rice and sometimes meat/vegetables. We enjoyed wine and Suppli at Supplozio in Rome.
